Arrival and getting around

By plane

Visitors to Bratislava either arrive at the Bratislava International Airport which is a few kilometres north-east of the city centre, or at the Vienna International Airport which is 45 kilometres away.

Given the frequency of the flights, it is recommended to fly to the Vienna Airport. Shuttle buses from the Vienna Airport to the Bratislava city centre (bus stop: Centrum – Most SNP) leave every 30 minutes from the bus stands in front of the Arrivals terminal. The journey takes around 50 minutes and costs between 5-10 Eur. There are 3 companies that operate the Vienna Airport-Bratislava shuttle buses: Slovak Lines, Regiojet or FlixbusTickets can be bought either online or directly on the bus (they are seldom sold out).

If you are arriving at Bratislava airport, you can take bus 61 which will take you to the main train station. In case you would like to call the taxi, we advise you to use Bolt or Uber mobile apps. Approximate taxi fees to the centre (Loft Hotel) 10 – 15 €.

By train:

The easiest way to get to the seminar venue! The hotel is situated just 10 minutes walk from the Main Train Station.

Public transport

Public transport is regular and reliable in Bratislava. Universal tickets covering all connections can be bought from ticket machines or via the mobile app. Tickets are available for 30 minutes (0,90 €) or 60 minutes (1,30 €). Tickets are only valid once stamped in the machine inside the vehicle. You can change bus, trolleybus or tram as often as you like within the validity of the ticket.
